The project is designed to determine:

1. Whether customers will participate in a program that rewards reduction in electricity use during peak hours.
2. The impact of pricing signals, such as time-of-use rates (TOU), on energy use patterns and peak demand.
3. The feasibility of procuring electricity and natural gas through a community-specific Energy Services Company (ESCO).
4. If near-real time information, enabled by advanced metering functionality, reports and alerts will help customers to better manage energy use.
5. The desirability of customers to participate in demand response events and implement energy-efficiency improvements.
