Energizing Citizens to Solarize the Capital Region

Steve Andersen will introduce the Department of Energy (DOE) community solar framework called ‘Solarize’. You will learn:

  • the history of Solarize,
  • how it works,
  • the benefits to citizens, solar installers, and others,
  • the experience with Solarize in the Capital District to-date,
  • upcoming plans for 2015,
  • and how you can get involved.

Steve Andersen is currently supporting Solarize Albany. Last year he was active in the successful Solarize Troy campaign. His active solarize networking connections include NYSERDA, Tompkins County, Broome County, Onondaga County, Schoharie County, and Votesolar.org. Steve’s solar background includes completing the Hudson Valley Community College Solar PV Program, and passing the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Entry Level exam. He also has worked part-time for a local solar installation company. Steve took an early retirement in 2013 from a corporation, where he performed the role of Certified Project Manager (PMP) for over 20 years.
