The program May 1 will provide an overview of Passive House and Green Roof design as applied by leading practitioners in their fields.

On May 3rd Mr. Scarano will lead a tour of a new residential project dubbed Bright ‘n’ Green, which is a showcase for Passive House, and storm resiliency design features.

Robert Scarano, Jr., Architect, Scarano Architects PLLC

Scarano Architect PLLC is an established, award-winning firm, with a highly dedicated and skilled staff that carries out a wide range of building types, handling dozens of projects per year. Robert Scarano is a Passive House design consultant, a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Society of American Registered Architects (SARA), and is the long-standing chair of the Design Action Committee of the Brooklyn Chapter of the AIA.

Amy Norquist, CEO & Founder, Greensulate

Amy has worked for over twenty years in environmental research and education, and spent three years as Deputy Director of the multi-million dollar Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries overseeing research and development efforts on major green and sustainable building initiatives. Greensulate is a leader of integrated design, engineering, installation and maintenance of Green Roof Systems for the residential, commercial, and industrial markets.

Sam McAfee, Principal
