Joshua Lipsman, MD, JD, MPH, Principal Consultant, JBL Health Systems

Joshua Lipsman, MD, JD, MPH is a practicing medical doctor, lawyer and public health expert who has helped communities adapt, mitigate and be educated about the health effects of global climate change. He has been doing this work recently through the NYC Bar Association Task Force on Legal Issues of Climate Adaptation and, in the past, through the American College of Preventive Medicine and the Westchester County Health Department, where he was the Health Commissioner from 2000-2009. He is principal at his management consulting firm, JBL Health Systems, LLC.

David Froelich, Business Deevelopment, Solaire Generation

David Froelich joined Solaire Generation in 2009 and is responsible for business development and strategic partnerships. He brings over 20 years experience of executive management in operations and finance to the company. David has helped Solaire contract over 37 MW of solar parking projects, including a project for a Whole Foods in New York City, and a microgrid with battery backup capacity in Maryland. 

Dan Connors, CEO, Aris Wind

Mr. Connors, a seasoned renewable energy entrepreneur, co-founded Aris Wind, LLC, (www.ariswind.com) to introduce new patented wind turbine technology to the US and Caribbean markets. His background includes both technology and management roles across a range of technology sectors including Small Wind, Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Fuel Cells, and Hydrokinetic Energy.

Lyle Rawlings, President, Advanced Solar Products

Mr. Rawlings will present the need for a “Smart” Feed in Tariff for easy financing of renewable energy as the number one financing mechanism for 90% of the world’s photovoltaic installations. As president of the Mid-Atlantic Solar Energy Industries Association he is well positioned to understand the growth and success of utility connected installations in neighboring states. All of the presentations will introduce innovative technology. However, the Q&A discussion will tackle the challenges and the opportunities for renewable energy in both its big and small distributed formats. How can they contribute to the grid stability and resiliency for New York State and our downstate region? '
