Utilizing RETScreen® to Analyze Solar Thermal Project Economics - 6:30pm Webinar

Thursday, February 24, 2011

February 24, 2011
6:30pm until 9pm EST

Our instructor, Dan Connors, President of Renewable Energy Strategies LLC, has used RETScreen extensively in his work to analyze and promote renewable energy projects. After presenting the basics of the RETScreen software, Dan will illustrate RETScreen’s capabilities using a commercial solar PV project as a “sample problem”. We will guide you through the project data inputs necessary to produce an accurate project analysis and then change some key inputs, for example the capital cost of system, to show how RETScreen can provide this type of sensitivity analysis. Government incentives will be analyzed in the sample problem exercise. You will learn how to save your analysis of many different project scenarios in RETScreen.

The webinar is targeted to attendees who are familiar with solar PV systems but much of the content will be helpful to use RETScreen to analyze other types of renewable energy projects. You should be familiar with Microsoft excel spreadsheets. Attendees are urged to visit www.retscreen.net and download this free software prior to the course.

The NYSES curriculum team will produce a packet of the presentation materials and example problems and email to attendees who request it after the course, so you do not have to take extensive notes.
