NYSES Renewable Energy Training Programs

The New York Solar Energy Society offers training for newcomers to solar technology as well as for installers with years of practical experience. NYSES is your resource for building skills to take you up each step of the ladder. The NYSES learn-at-home webinars help you gain the knowledge you need quickly and economically. Our "Ask the Pro" question and answer forum keeps you up-to-date and in-the-know.

TRAINING COURSE

Commercial Photovoltaic (PV) Project Analysis Using RETScreen

TRAINING COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will review examples of both rebate and performance-based solar incentive policies and how they impact commercial financial models. Examples used will be in the United States; specifically New York and New Jersey, although the broad differences between these two incentive structures will be discussed and the students will be able to apply the application to a wide variety of locations. After a review of specific policies and incentives, the class will learn how to build a commercial PV financial model in both types of incentive structures. Two case studies will be reviewed in detail.

TRAINING COURSE EXPECTATIONS

This RETScreen course is intended for users who are familiar with photovoltaic system design and the financial incentives associated with these projects. RETScreen does not require design inputs, such as string configurations, and these inputs are not necessary to perform an analysis. This course will include no background on the photovoltaic market, technology, or different applications. RETScreen is intended to be a versatile tool for performing high-level financial and risk analysis for photovoltaic and other renewable energy and energy efficiency applications.

RETSCREEN® is a registered trademark of the Minister of Natural Resources Canada.

Commercial solar PV financial analysis using RETScreen®. We will review the financial incentive policies of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania before learning how to build a model using system information from a commercial PV project. Two case studies will be reviewed in detail, and class attendees will learn how to build models for two different locations. This course will be delivered via a Webinar service.

Cost: $75.00 USD
